Leaf be a changin’, air gettin’ colder. Fall brews are in full effect and pumpkin beers are the talk of the town (if your town is really small and has nothing going on in it, expect it’s pumpkin brewery) But let me continue, Smutty Nose Brewary, located in beautiful Utica NY.
Has released their version of pumpkin beer. The smell starts with a light pumpkin and spice aroma, indicating it won’t be overbearing with the pumpkin taste. Which I learned on my 1st sip. If you didn’t tell me it was a pumpkin ale, I probably wouldn’t have know. Taste hovers around the medium ale spectrum and has decent bitter taste to it, but not enough to be off putting. I would say this pumpkin ale does rank in the lower half of other pumpkin ales I sampled since fall started.
