Beer Review: Cigar City Brewing’s Big Sound Scotch Ale

image

Any time you dedicate a beer to your favorite punk rock bagpiper (Gino of Tampa Bay Pipes & Drums), it has to be big. And this is REALLY big. Cigar City Brewing is spot on calling this a goliath. Dark brown with a red glow, this  complex ale has notes of toffee, coffee, and sour cherry, this beer comes at you with the force of a Marshall stack set to 11. The aftertaste leaves you wanting more, like Metallica making you wait until the third encore to hear Seek And Destroy. We could say this would be best paired with a prime rib, but lets be honest, haggis is the perfect partner here. This beer delivers flavor and wallop.
