Beer Review: JulBrew

Guest Review by Matt Murphy

What better way to travel the world than through your taste buds.  Such is the case when a friend returned from a trip to The Gambia with beers in tow. As the bottles say, JulBrew is from “The Gambia’s very own brewery” which happens to be Banjul Breweries Ltd., Banjul. The beer is a clear crisp lager with a good color, reminiscent of Red Stripe. It’s not the most exciting beer but knowing where it came from goes beyond just making up for it. That being said, it did win the Monde Selection, Brussels, Gold Award 5 times: 1979, 1987, 1990, 1999, & 2008. I do recommend putting this brew on your list to try if or when your run across it.

BV – 4.7%
Look/Color – 8.0
