Beer Review: Innis & Gunn

Yeah, I never heard of it either. A special holiday treat from the O’Briens, neighbors of mine on the street I grew up on. I explained that relationship in an earlier post. I was offered this beer, which is aged in Rum casks. Which gives it a unique flavor. The smell = rum and coke, there is no other way of describing it, without that comparison. The taste also compares to a rum and coke, but with beer. They also make a batch of beer aged in scotch barrels, which I was not a huge fan of (cuz I don’t like scotch). It’s very interesting and a perfect beer to spark some good conversations.

ABV – 7.4%

Smell – 9
Taste – 8
Overall – 8.33
