Walgreens To Sell Beer

Next time you’re in a Walgreens and you see sixes of strange beer for $2.99, and 24’s for $11.49, don’t be shocked. That beer is Big Flats 1901, the first “house branded” beer for the pharmacy/corner store chain.

Sooner or later, select stores in select regions will carry the brew, created by the same upstate New York brewery that makes “exclusive” brands for CostCo and Trader Joe’s, to name a few.

After going dry for well over a decade, Walgreens started selling alcohol again in 2009, and hoping this “value price” concoction becomes a cash cow. Much like 7-11. One hopes that this surpasses such a benchmark.

Sure.
